State News Governor Quinn’s Budget Proposal: As part of Governor Quinn’s Budget 1.3 billion in cuts, the Governor is asking State Workers to take the brunt of this cut. A summary of his budget includes: - A 2% increase as a pension contribution from each state employee
- Each employee will have to take additional furlough days again resulting in a 1.5% cut in pay
- State employees will have to pay more for their health insurance.
The Governor’s budget equates to an approximate 6% cut in pay for workers while exposing them to a possibility of higher taxes. Cutting and increasing the cost of benefits to the hard working members of this state is not the answer. National News Employee Free Choice Act:
